Director Sergio Leone's sprawling crime epic follows a group of Jewish mobsters (including Robert De Niro, James Woods and Elizabeth McGovern) who rise in the ranks of organized crime in 1920s New York. Their story unfolds in flashbacks as ringleader Noodles (De Niro) returns to Brooklyn some 30 years later to reunite and reminisce with his cohorts. Nominated for two Golden Globes, this gritty drama was Leone's last directorial effort.

When his drug-addicted girlfriend commits suicide, Riki-Oh offs her dealer and finds himself locked up in a prison where the accused have no rights and very little hope. The other inmates torture Riki-Oh with a stunning variety of implements (which include pretty much anything at hand), but he fights back as if his life depended on it -- which it does!

When he discovers a mystical notebook that grants him the power to kill anyone he wants by merely writing their name, a brilliant student named Light (Tatsuya Fujiwara) develops a god complex and attempts to create utopia. Now, it's up to ingenious detective "L" (Ken'ichi Matsuyama) to stop the supernatural vigilante. Directed by Shusuke Kaneko, this eerie thriller also stars Asaka Seto, Erika Toda and Shigeki Hosokawa.

Frances McDormand earned an Oscar for her turn as pregnant Sheriff Marge Gunderson, who's sharper than her Northern Minnesota dialect suggests. The intrepid Gunderson bangs on doors and asks questions to unravel a kidnapping plot and the string of murders it provokes. McDormand receives grand support from William H. Macy as a car dealer who conspires with hotheaded kidnappers Steve Buscemi and Peter Stormare.

Adapted from Michael Ondaatje's acclaimed novel set against the backdrop of World War II, Anthony Mingehlla's Oscar-winning drama stars Ralph Fiennes as a horribly burned pilot who recounts a tale of doomed romance to the nurse tending him (Juliette Binoche). As his story is revealed via flashback, so too are secrets about his identity and the depth of his passion for the woman he loved (Kristin Scott Thomas). Willem Dafoe co-stars.

As the years pass, the Morgans try to survive unionization, a lengthy strike and a mining accident; meanwhile, their hometown and its venerable traditions slowly disintegrate. John Ford's gentle masterpiece won five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Director Yuen Chor's stylish saga follows two rival swordsmen who must set aside their differences and work together to prevent a villainous warlord from getting his hands on an ancient artifact known as the Peacock Dart -- the ultimate weapon. Tun (Ananda Everingham), a photographer, and his girlfriend, Jane (Natthaweeranuch Thongmee), run over a young girl after a night of drinking and decide to flee the scene. When several of Tun's friends die in mysterious circumstances, they realize that they may be haunted by more than just bad memories.

Lien Ni-Chang (Brigitte Lin) -- the would-be bride whose hair turned white when her lover, Cho Yi-Hang (Leslie Cheung), betrayed her -- is back for more bloodshed in this action-packed sequel to the Ronny Yu classic. Still enraged and full of hate, Ni-Chang roams the countryside to take out the last surviving leaders of powerful clans. Meanwhile, Yi-Hang searches for a magical flower that will reverse Ni-Chang's unfortunate condition.

Auteur David Lynch sets this early effort in an industrial wasteland of a town, where young factory worker Henry Spencer (Jack Nance) dwells alongside grotesque characters and bizarre creatures -- not the least of which is his own child. Henry's girlfriend, Mary X (Charlotte Stewart), announces that she's expecting, but the real surprise comes when she gives birth to a deformed, squalling aberration -- and leaves the mutant in Henry's care.

Jack the Ripper (David Warner) is back to continue his ghastly reign of terror; this time, he's found his way to the late 1970s, intent on taking care of unfinished business. H.G. Wells (Malcolm McDowell) uses a time machine to pursue Jack into the future, where he meets Amy (Mary Steenburgen), a bank clerk who teaches Wells about life in the '70s while helping him hunt for Jack.

Writer-director Robert Rodriguez's indie debut and his big-budget follow-up are both featured on this disc. Sundance Film Festival winner El Mariachi chronicles the travails of a traveling musician (Carlos Gallardo) who's been mistaken for an assassin who carries his weapons in a guitar case -- and whom the local crime lord wants dead. In Desperado, the mariachi (Antonio Banderas) returns -- this time seeking revenge. Salma Hayek co-stars.

On her first night there, the howling outside her window leads the reporter to discover that she's in a colony all right … a colony of werewolves!
