I love Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett, so I like Notes on a Scandal, though the story is disturbing... the actings are superb. I love depressing movies, so I am a fan of Chinese films. I like Shower, but haven't seen Oldboy. There is a depressing Chinese film with a happy ending (oxymoron?) called Warm Spring - it's pretty good, have you seen it? Another good one is The King of Masks.

I saw Everything Is Illuminated, The Shipping News and The Road Home.... among others. Those are good, if you like the kind of movies I like. Everything Is Illuminated has found its way to my list of favorite films. The Road Home has become one of the three romantic dramas I love. The Shipping News... it has Kevin Spacey, Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench and Julianne Moore... based on the actors & actresses alone it is an interesting and well acted movie.
