About Me:
A musician from Cape Cod. I am a singer songwriter who plays guitar, bass, drums, and piano. I am currently in the process of starting a new band with 3 other chaps. I am looking for a drummer and a female vocalist to complete it. The music that speaks to me the most would be none other than Radiohead but I also like... At the Drive In, Deftones, Bjork, Portugal the Man, Beastie Boys, Portishead, Massive Attack, Fiona Apple, the Beatles, the reflecting skin, KRS-one, Neil Young, medeski martin and wood, the flaming lips, hot chip, smashing pumpkins, nirvana, jurassic five, the mercury program, slint, the clash, dagobah, they might be giants, the vehicle birth, pretty girls make graves, the pixies, drive like jehu, the Arcade Fire, Outkast, Hum, rage against the machine, Deltron, Astrud Gilberto, the shins, the breeders, talking heads, David Bowie, ELO, Fugazi, STP, depeche mode, RJD2, the chronos quartet, the mars volta, beck, morphine, self, Travis, M.I.A., modest mouse, Flight of the Conchords, James Brown, Tortoise, Marvin Gaye, phantom planet, American Football, the beach boys, the kinks, the ramones, the Cure, Tool, Garbage, Cave In, R.E.M., the yeah yeah yeahs, devotchka, G. Love and Special Sauce, sunny day real estate, the get up kids, Clutch, Folk Implosion, Iron and wine, Tom Waits and so on... My favorite music tends to sound like the soundtrack or score to a film, so it's no wonder that I've been getting more into movies within the last 5 years.

Song Lyrics in the works to eighties synthesizer Science Fiction, ("Brass Fuzz" effect on the Yamaha PSR-27)

i couldn't change
driving nails through your eyes
a constant mistake
i can't take your disdain
your a machine fastening malformation
nothing we can say
when I'm not enough

mirrors and errors are chasing for my name
chagrining implications sneer upon my back

a lunatic fringe,
I have singed and centered
in taking part, instilling
my own disapperance

mirrors and errors are chasing for my name
chagrining implications sneer upon my back

Tired of being a critic

I've recently realized that maybe I have been a little mean in some of my reviews. Just because I have strong feelings about what I dislike, doesn't justify or excuse my harsh face-slapping words to those who do like it. I have never liked condescending people and any hint of it is pompous and ugly. Having said that, I can still point out that I think something is of bad taste without belittling those who like it. It was never my intention to do so, but I have to admit that sometimes I try to co… Continue

Hey There... Sorry for the delay in response. I've not been online much lately.

I'm glad to hear you liked Mulholland Drive well enough. Its one of my favorite Lynch films.

I've taken a short break from the world of serious cinema and I've been reliving my childhood via He-man & The Masters of the Universe animated series from 83'. Its been even more campy and funny that I had remembered.

Anyhow, Yes, check out 3 women, NF does have it and its a very unique film, similar to Mulholland Drive but older.

Thanks again for all your comments, its always nice to see someone thinking about their environment and the world around them.

Movie wise, I'm always watching a ton of stuff.. My recent favorite is 3 Women.

and one film documentary I've been looking forward is Llik Your Idols. I'm a big fan of Richard Kern & Nick Zedd. I haven't seen the documentary yet though.

Thanks! I will certainly check it out, maybe this weekend. Hubby and I spent the long weekend working on our yards... and we only managed to take care of the front yard. Egad!!! Were we sore! I did think of you while pulling those pesky weeds, digging out unwanted bulbs and roots. LOL

hi there... I'm sorry to hear that your upbringing was complicated. Family situations can be quite difficult. I tend to spend time constructing healthy relationships with healthy people now . but certain aspects of our lives are out of our control especially our pasts.

I think you should say whatever you need to say as long as you aren't harming yourself or anyone else - I'm normally fairly agreeable. As for conversations that bring change and honesty, that is quite an admirable mission. Art was definitely one form of communication for me that would initiate thought and dialogue.

Respect and courtesy are two qualities I always appreciate. You don't have to be modest to be respectful or courteous - in fact, you can be both confident and brilliant in your approach to the world but I do think there is a lack of respect for people based on social cultural reasons, classism, and agism.

So good for you... It sounds like you have a lot of ideas brewing. Now is as good as anytime to watch those ideas materialize.

I generally make things that tend to bother me in one way or another. Normally it keeps with me until I make it. I've been really interested in monochromatic schemes as a palette and I loved the idea of making objects that were inspired by toys or unsophisticated representations of society. The Black Bambi piece was part of a series regarding hunting and masculinity... But essentially I just like to create stuff, and as I am responsible for their meanings, most people want to derive their own anyhow. So, all your points or ideas have value in their own way.

And of course, those are just a few little pieces, I've made hundreds of prints and sculptures and whatnot. Lately I've been mostly working on graphic design work to pay the bills (and I enjoy doing it too but its a different enjoyment than making art for myself).

I like several of the bands you have listed, I'd love to finally hear something sometime. Thanks for taking a look at my artwork, hopefully it wasn't too forward of me to post a bunch of shit on your page. haha.

Creative types, artists and people I just tend to like how they appear to others: Pipilotti Rist, Annie Sprinkle, Barnaby Barford, Karen Finley, Orlan, Kembra Pfahler, Lydia Lunch, Richard Hell, Peter Berlin, Isabella Blow, Paul McCarthy, Jeff Koons, Larry Clark, Nan Goldin, Leigh Bowery, Robert Cary-Williams, Mink Stole, Ann Magnuson, The Killer Nerd, Eddie Izzard, Amanda Lepore, Ryan Trecartin, Valie Export, Joe Coleman, Niki de Saint Phalle, Tammy Faye Baker, Richard Kern, Duggie Fields, Nick Zedd, Terry Richardson, Amy Sedaris, Karen Black, Ernest Angley, Richie Rich, Divine & Thomas Kinkade (that last one is a joke).

But honestly, that is like a tiny little list because I have dedicated a great deal of energy and time in learning about unique and talented individuals.

Personally, I work best in sculpture & printmaking but I've also worked with installation. Here's a bit of my artwork:

suburbia, mail art, 2003

Love With Tear Us Apart, sculpture, 2007

Black Bambi, Sculpture, 2007

Chief Cutesy, Sculpture, 2008

The Husky Hugger, Sculpture, 2008

Fake, Video Still/Print, 2008

NEW film entitled THE BOX from Richard Kelly, the director of Donnie Darko:

Cameron Diaz and James Marsden play the Lewises, young suburban parents who find a mysterious wooden box on their doorstep -- a box with the power to confer a million dollars on them at the push of a button. But the couple soon learns that pressing the button will beget the death of a stranger, leaving them on the horns of an ethical dilemma. Frank Langella also stars in this psychological thriller from director Richard Kelly.

Hey, thanks for adding me to your faves! I see you like Being John Malkovich!! That's a serious mind bending movie. Have you seen Adaptation? Synechdoche, NY?

If you don't mind foreign films (reading subtitles), try a movie called The Bothersome Man. I love it.
