I still liked Colin Firth as well but I could totally relate the MacFadyn's portrayal. Have seen all the BBC new versions and have them as well. Billie Piper just didn't do it for me but I thought the other Mansfield Park was a little dark for me. But since I am so deperate to see any film adaptation, I will take what I can get. I also bought Northanger Abbey which I liked as well. Thought S&S was wonderful, I also liked how they portrayed Willoughby as torn and really in love with Marianne. Really want the Lost in Austen series. Caught a few YouTube shots and now I am hooked. Great hearing from you. I also like period pieces, have seen The Duchess which is coming to DVD on December 27 and queued Brideshead Revisited.
