Yours was one of the recommendations that I kept seeing on the small set of favs lists for Lars and the Real Girl. My wife and I were both a little worried by the description--dolls and all...but it is truly a sweet and delightful movie and we really enjoyed it! I probably never would have got it from netflix except for you and people like you who listed it so fervently! Thanks!

Another excellent film with an excellent performance by Peter Fonda (the degree of emotion that can be conveyed without saying anything, or with only saying very little, kind of like H.D. Stanton in Paris, Texas): Ulee's Gold. Check it out. :) You might want to check out Rumble Fish, too, if you haven't seen it.

Lawyer, huh? Cool.

Hi TAM, miss your picture with the red sari! LOL
Have you seen Goya's Ghosts? It's on Instant Watch. It's a good one IMHO.

You've queued some coo, stuff, lol. H H Holmes is a very good, albeit short, documentary. I had never heard of the guy before. The series on serial killers looks like it would be pretty good, too. I recently saw Ted Bundy, which was decent, although hard to judge because i know few of the facts (other than what wikipdeia says) of his crime spree and pre-execution confinement. Dahmer was pretty good, too.

But Cops?? I love that show, and i watch it every time it comes on...and i hate cops, which is starange. I guess just watching all the BS they do, and the lies they tell, and the brutality they inflict, keeps reminding me of why i dislike them.

I do hope you like the films i recommended to you. And i saw Lars and the Real Girl last night. It was surprising good, a bit predictable, but nevertheless not only a musing on mental illness, but also of an awkward social commentary not only of Lars but the entire community in which he lives, based upon how they accepted and (inter-)acted with Bianca. Strange, but very good. Overall, a fairly complex and multilayered look at psychology of the individual, relationships in general, and society. Cool.

About Me:
I'm a 31 year old movie buff. I lawyer by day and watch movies by night. I love to watch movies (over TV) and try to watch as many as possible. I am interested in Indy flicks and movies that have great performances or do something different. One of my faves last year was "Lars and the Real Girl" and I love some "Juno". Not to into movies made for the masses but I watch them too. I love interesting documentaries because I love to learn new nuggets of info.

I want to be in the top 100 of NetFlix reviewers (I am told that is tacky to say but I'm just being honest!) so please rate my reviews (helpful) and be my fan and all that good stuff. It's a lofty goal but you'll make my day if you help me!

Please send me recommendations on any movies you think I'd enjoy!

I started the Georgia Movie Buffs groups so if you live in GA please join!
