Funny you say that because I'm not a big Meryle Streep fan, either. It's kind of like watching Meg Ryan... the same person just in a different setting, which was cool about this one because she's another person. Adaptation wasn't horrible for the same reason. 'Have to hand it to Nicholas Cage for his dual role in that one.
