Thanks for becoming my friend on thi page as well as the NF Friends group. I always like hearing from you. I love film noir as well but since you are one of my friends you probably already know that.

I really, really liked Punch Drunk Love, which is saying a lot because it showed at our one screen art theatre and I ridiculed the notion that we were showing an ADAM SANDLER film! And then, I was blown away with it--though I didn't find many who enjoyed it. Quite possibly, it's the only Sandler film I've liked.
Sounds like it might be a depressing week for you!
Okay, now I'm excited So few people enjoy films like this... I'm delighted to know that you do. Two others that might be just up your alley are Once Were Warriors and Breaking the Waves. I checked and see that you haven't seen either. They are difficult watches, but I think well worth the effort.
These types of films are hard to find because the majority of movie viewers don't understand them and generally 1 star them, giving an overall not-so-good rating.
People who like things neat tend to dislike it. You seem ok with messy realism, so I suspect you'll do fine. But if you don't like it, lie to me. I'm quite enamored with it.
I'm with you on Edward Scissorhands and Big Fish too. I can't remember what I rated Big Fish, but I remember that I just didn't like it as much as I thought I should have. Cool visuals, cool acting, but....don't know. It just didn't grab me.
I've had Atonement at home for a month now and STILL haven't watched it. Since I've gotten busy at school, I just don't have time for tv, unless it's in front of the treadmill, and that works best with TV series. I doubt I'm even watching one movie a week and meanwhile my queue just grows and grows.
You know, I don't remember this movie. I rated it a 3, appropriate for something I've totally forgotten, but as I watched the preview it looked good. So I'm curious about your thoughts on it. Is this one to watch again or not?
Oh, you poor thing... of course I'll be your friend! School's got me in a strangle hold, in fact I've got a couple of papers to write tonight so ta-ta for now. Donna

Perhaps you have some to pass my way?
No, don't lie, just be kind and let me down easy.
