001- Nights in Rodanthe

With chaos tearing her marriage and family apart, Adrienne Willis (Diane Lane) takes a weekend caretaker job at her friend's coastal North Carolina inn. When a storm hits, stranding the inn's only guest, Dr. Paul Flanner (Richard Gere), Adrienne's life changes forever. As the storm rages outside, Adrienne connects with Flanner, who came to the Rodanthe retreat to escape his own personal crisis. James Franco co-stars in this romantic drama.

002- Step Brothers

Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) and Dale Doback (John C. Reilly) -- two grown men still living at home -- turn into jealous, competitive stepbrothers when their single parents marry in this Judd Apatow-produced comedy. Brennan's constant competition with Dale strains his mom's (Mary Steenburgen) marriage to Dale's dad (Richard Jenkins). Will the reluctant stepsiblings ever see eye to eye? And more importantly, will they ever leave the nest?

003- Look Who's Talking

Mollie is a single working mother who's out to find the perfect father for her child. Her baby, Mikey, prefers James, a cab driver turned babysitter who has what it takes to make them both happy. But Mollie won't even consider James. It's going to take all the tricks a baby can think of to bring them together before it's too late. Amy Heckerling wrote and directed this baby's-eye-view comedy.

004- Arrested Development: Season 3: Disc 2

This disc includes the following episodes: "Making A Stand," "S.O.B.s," "Fakin' It," "Family Ties," "Exit Strategy" and "Development Arrested."

005- Twisted

Female cop Jessica (Ashley Judd) is more dedicated to enforcing the law than most of her colleagues, since she feels she has a lot to make up for: Seems her father moonlighted as a serial killer. Could it be that the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree? That's what Jessica thinks when she finds herself at the center of her own investigation as past lovers start dying at a breakneck pace (literally!).

006- Connections 1: Disc 1

This disc includes the following episodes: "The Trigger Effect" and "Death in the Morning."

007- The Big One

Another subversive journey from documentarian / provocateur Michael Moore poses this question: At a time when corporations are posting record profits, why are so many Americans still in danger of losing their jobs? Searching America's heartland, armed only with a camera, tons of sarcasm and a heartfelt sympathy for the American worker, Moore embarks on a one-man campaign to persuade Fortune 500 companies to reconsider their downsizing decisions.

008- Free Willy

Busted for painting graffiti all over Willy the whale's holding tank at a theme park, abandoned malcontent Jesse (Jason James Richter) is promptly sentenced to clean up his handiwork. While working off his punishment, the rebellious Jesse unexpectedly bonds with the equally unruly orca. Meanwhile, the park's conniving owner (Michael Ironside) decides Willy is worth more dead than alive. Can Jesse rescue his captive cohort before it's too late?

009- Treasure Island

Robert Louis Stevenson's ageless adventure yarn of buccaneers and buried gold is brought to life in this sumptuous Disney production. Authentic locales and musket-roaring action set the stage as young Jim Hawkins (Bobby Driscoll) searches for "pieces of eight" along with the wily, one-legged pirate of all pirates, Long John Silver (a great Robert Newton). A swashbuckling classic fit for all ages.

010- Withnail and I

Two unemployed actors -- Withnail (Richard E. Grant) and Marwood (Paul McGann) -- take a trip to the British countryside in 1969. But instead of rejuvenation, they experience a lack of food, an abundance of rain and a plethora of alcohol. Their host, Withnail's gay Uncle Monty (Richard Griffiths), displays a love for life and a lust for Marwood. This classic art-house comedy won an Evening Standard British Film Award.

Please, please, PLEASE write some code that prevents members from posting reviews until the movie release date. Yes, I know that new releases sometimes are postponed, but if the code were based on the initial date given, then at least *some* of t...

for those of us who can't get enough horror!
Cool. I got 1 of your video books and have been curious about this book. Been watching the all the SWs with my nieces this last week, so this will be a good time to check it out.
I might be able to help. Would one of you want to be admin here? btw and totally aside: my book on Lucas is now available online for free: http://droidmaker.blogspot.com/2009/06/droidmaker-book-now-downloadable-free.html

Finding our way in life can be a challenge, especially when it feels like we haven't got a clue. Read how one couple addresses this in my latest blog entry, "Finding Our Way," a review of the new comedy-drama "Away We Go."
Perhaps you are right. I stumbled into the discussion forum by accident.....my bad....adios.
Fail. The object of being in this forum is to communicate with others who may or may not be like minded as far as movies are concerned. If you really believe the "fuck a bunch of friends" mentality, then why are you even here? Why sign up for a di...

Name change, some visual changes...

Maybe it's the hour, and maybe i'm being ridiculous, but this community is YOUR community - it's not mine and it's not from Netflix, and I guess i was thinking that it might be confusing to some people when it looked so much like the community page from which it is now (temporarily?) linked, when it had the same logo treatment as the Netflix Community (and color scheme), and that it presented itself as "THE" community, when in fact it is just one of any number that could exist.

So, in a modest… Continue

Blog Experiment

Do we need a "community" here, and a blog elsewhere? Ideally perhaps both would be "within" the netflix pages, but even if they are not, couldn't they both be merged somehow?

I'm going to copy a couple of my 'classic' blog posting from the Community Blog and add them here, just to see how all this works and whether i think it is a good or better location for blog stuff.

Your suggestions and feedback are, of course, valued.

Moving the Needle

When I add something to the site — like the Latest Reviews block or the Members Top 10 Lists, I am looking to see how many of our subscribers use it, and come back to use it again. For whom does this feature add value? My goal is to add lots of value for as many people as i can. A new feature doesn’t have to appeal to everyone, of course. We have a lot of subscribers, after all, and you all have a very wide range of needs and preferences. Some things we do might be useful to everyone (s… Continue

The Product Tax

Your feature ideas are great, and your obvious passion is a tribute, I think, to what we've done so far. So I'm going to have another one of those "out on a limb" conversations here about product design. (It's possibly too much for a blog like this, but...) there was something in a few of your postings that comes up often, and it includes the expression that the solution to a problem is "obvious." This has triggered something in me. A number of new community features will roll out next week and… Continue

I noticed you had Firefly in your Q. I'm re-watching it again myself. I just finished with disk 2 "Jaynestown". What an excellent series! So so sad to see it go. Good to see people still enjoying it though.

Hey there! I love this community - so thanks for putting it together! I was wondering though if there is a way to search for fellow New Yorkers and Brooklynites. I would love to connect to Netflix'ers in my hood. Thanks!
