I live in Georgia in the witness protection program ( just feels that way). I have to drive to Atlanta to see certain films.

Happy-Go-Lucky 2008 Sally Hawkins earned her golden globe here. I love formula free English movies with characters who look and act like real people. Eddie Marsden plays her driving instructor in a riveting performance. I have been watching him in L…

Sometimes men have a visceral dislike of spineless jellyfish characters like the one N. Cage played in Adaptation. My father hated Woody Allen that way.

My son met Kidman and Tom Cruise when they were already divorced but pre Katie Holmes. He played cello in a string quartet at a wedding in Sarasota. He said Cruise was friendly and Kidman was just plain scary. I do like some of her acting, though.

I found that on second watching I loved Adaptation. Often one is disappointed when viewing a movie again.

I just loved the look of it but let's face it...it was a blood bath

Sorry...I read people talking about all kinds of scenes in great movies, didn't think the opening scene was a spoiler..hoped it was just a teaser to get people to see it

Venice. Nice reflection off the boat. You wearing sunglasses with florescent earpieces? And there's a bear steering the boat?

I didn't get around to watching it last night, so tonight it will be. I'm just now getting a flicker of a memory of what Richard Attenborough looks like. I'll add 10 Rillington Place to my queue.

Over time, I think my friend's comments about Obama were part of the reason my support evolved towards him.

Oh, I meant to say, your About Me made me laugh when I got to the malcontent. Also, am I correct in surmising that you did not play left wing for a hockey team?

Oh, I'm watching Seance on a Wet Afternoon tonight. It's the movie the film club to which I belong is discussing Friday. I am glad to see it on someone's favorite films, I was hoping it would not be a bore.

A friend was on law review with Obama, and when it came to pick someone to head the law review, it was down to my friend (very very liberal), Obama, and a conservative. Obama got it because my friend decided to support him for it. She said he is able to pull those with extreme views into a consensus. She also said she loves Obama and he is a totally genuine person.
