Anderson's cinematic adaptation of Sinclair's literary work felt annotated to me. As a result, this tale of two men's struggle for power in the raw American west spanning decades ends up feeling like a two-and-a-half-hour scenery chewing contest between the two leads. Thanks for the invite, friend. I just started to read your There Will Be Blood review and stopped when you said it was overrated b/c I plan on watching it tonight-I'll get back to your blog after I watch...Your favorite set is very interesting to me. Don't mean to sound like a know it all, but a few I've never heard of that I plan on checking out -you're gonna keep me busy!

Try as I might, I can't think of a clever answer to your clever question ;). There are people like Frank because someone has to be the object of our voyeurism---without him, who would captain our indulgent little trips to the dark side! So, my head says, 'there are people like Frank, because there are people like Jeffrey.' Contrary-wise, my heart (not so theory-versed) says 'there are people like Frank because there are people like Dorothy.'
