Trippy Movies

Im planning a day for myself to just chill and trip out. I was planning on compiling a list of movies to watch on said day. Any suggestions? As a guide a couple movies i find extremely trippy is the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie, fear and loathing in las vegas, and requiem for a dream. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

14? Nice!

That's a funny story and I can totally picture that. LOL

Another word to the wise: A cat is a completely blank slate when one is tripping. If the cat seems like a cute and happy bundle of fur, he is absolutely adorable.

If, otoh, you look into the nothingness of his black eyes and start to think about nature's killing machine as a bundle of predatory impulses just waiting to be unleashed by some unknown cue, then that's what he becomes.

...And then its time to grab your Ipod and lock yourself in the bedroom for a good long while!

Fire is always fun when tripping. I think it could be pretty dangerous though. I probably could have easily burned some shit down. However, the things one see's in the constantly changing motion and intensity. It is truly mesmerizing. I envisioned a candle as a Hawaiian belly dancer while listening to Roger Waters for about six hours once. One the other hand I've also ran the woods in the middle of night with a hunting knife in pursuit of wood to build the largest fire possible to keep the bears away. I wonder why I didn't think about how easy it would have been to get a crazed idiot running through the dark for a bear. The moral of these stories are "Drugs are bad Um Kay". Seriously, Sometimes watching the sun set and looking over the horizon of the earth with your mind while the sky bleeds into what looks like puffy cotton balls isn't the greatest thing.

A lot of things i find to be the most trippy usually lack a substantial plot. i go back to the auqateen movie, very little plot structure but intensely trippy when tripping

I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy Andy Goldsworthy's Rivers and Tides, and the experience would be low risk for a bummer. Also, the Works of Director Michel Gondry, a collection of his music videos, is a blend of terrific contemporary music and incredibly inventive visuals that watching it in your planned state of mind would probably be a lot fun. One of the music videos on the DVD is a song by the trip-hop group (the genre is right on, isn't it?), Massive Attack. And if you watch the Cibo Matto video, I wouldn't waste any precious time thinking about how it was done, it is really clever. (Opps, sorry, just checked--Netflix doesn't have it for rent yet--but read the synopsis and the reviews, you might think it worth buying, as I did.)

Netflix does have Rivers and Tides, though. (Would you consider recording yourself watching whatever films you choose and sharing some snippits of the experience with us? You could wear a costume to keep your identity private... but I digress.)
