Naomi Watts vs. Nicole Kidman

Who in your opinion is a better actress? or has delivered better roles?
I like Naomi, and I think her choices so far have been inconsistent. I see her as the queen of remakes. From the Ring to Funny Games. Can someone please give her something original written specifically for her. I hope she doesnt' become the Ashley Judd of this generation. By that i mean, that every cop thriller movie had Ashley Judd in mind. Now every remake of horror, adventure or psychological thriller has talented Watts playing the parts.
Nicole has had some slips of her own. that awful movie with Will Ferrel. Yuk!

but at the end, who would you get out of the couch to go see at the big screen?

Naomi is too young in her career to reach their status and nobody in my opinion will ever top Meryl. For some reasons I think she is a better actress in comedies than the dramas, but thats just me. On a surprising note Glenn has never won an Oscar!!! WTF!!!
My other opinion to those that picked Naomi over Nicole, or vice versa, just b/c you liked a person's movies better than the others is no reason to say they are a better actress. Thats kind of like going through your star ratings on actresses and seeing that Sandra Bullock is your favorite actress b/c you have given all her films high stars. (Not knocking Sandra, I happen to like her. She was the only mass appeal actress that I could think of at the moment).; ▶ Reply to This

I agree. Blockbuster movie does not equal great actress it only means better public appeal as in Julia Roberts..no actress, good celebrity.; ▶ Reply to This

But Nicole Kidman has been in Far and Away, Days of Thunder and Eyes Wide Shut where she had to act attracted to Tom Cruise. The only thing I can hold against Mrs. Kidman is Bewiched and Stepford Wives, which I fear suffered more from lack of script than performance. I haven't seen anything yet to make me doubt the abilities of Ms. Watts, but I haven't seen Eastern Promises and Funny Games yet either.; ▶ Reply to This
