Vampire's Kiss anticipated "American Pycho," with yuppie Nick Cage realizing that he is a vampire. But he takes the metaphor literally. Cage eating a cockroach is a highlight, I don't know -- is that animal cruelty? Or actor cruelty?
That scene with the roaches scared the bajeezus out of me when I was a kid cause I had seen a roach at my best friend's house once and we were having a sleepover there that night. I was shaking so bad I almost peed my pants!! Aaaaahhh, good times...good times.
I was on the set for that segment of Creepshow -- helped Ray Mendez wrangle the roaches, which were very well treated. Ray had crawled on his hands and knees through caves fill of batshit in Costa Rica to harvest those big boys, he wasn't eager to lose any. I didn't see a single corpse.
The roach in Vampire's Kiss definitely died, though.
Come to think of it there are alot of musicals that have a bad element...Rocky HOrror Picture Show, Little Shop of Horrors, well that's about it,, maybe Wizard of Oz.
