Netflix seems to be putting more effort into expanding the number of "instant" titles and, while this has resulted in a floodtide of crappy horror and flakey religious titles, there's quite a few gems flowing in as well.
Even though Stephen King disliked it, I continue to enjoy rewatching Kubrick's The Shining.
I've been waiting 15 years to see Falling Down, and I'll be firing that up right after this post!
The Mission would be brilliant if all it had going was scrumptious cinematography of Brazil's rainforests, amd Morricone's heartbreaking score -- but it has much more than that!
Absolutely loved it. I even forgave Schumacher for his crimes against Batman!
I started watching a movie on my pc this AM and my girlfriend said, "put it on the TV."
I said, "It's a Todd Solondz."
She said "He makes those depressing movies."
I said, "I thought he made comedies."
If you think Solondz makes comedies, his most hilarious effort to date is now instantly watchable!
Put on your funny underpants to enjoy Palindromes
"Worthless... another steaming, audience-flattering load of snickering misanthropy and pointless provocations from the increasingly irrelevant Todd Solondz" -- Philadelphia Weekly
Wonderful song over the closing credits, "That's How Jesus Made Us."
I hadn't thought of The Sand Pebbles in years, a film based on the first novel of Richard McKenna, whose prior reputation rested on a handful of exceptional science fiction stories, including the unforgettable Hugo-nominated story "Casey Agonistes." Sadly, McKenna died shortly after his first novel won 1963's Harper' Prize. He was 51.
Instant Watch Movies are added all the time, i.e. every day. We do target movies that are in a lot of people's queues and the main emphasis is independent movies, back catalog and TV shows, the latest biggest movies are on DVD. The number of shows is currently listed as 7000, it was 6000 a month or two ago.
The instant watching Top50 tracks what is popular over the last week or so, and changes every day.
