Just this morning I watched There Will Be Blood for the second time. I was hoping the the relative silence of my home I could focus and reflect on this movie a little more. However; I still found the ending of this movie unsatisfying.
Any comments on There Will Be Blood or any other movie with a frustrating ending?
Amen! You knew it was going to happen in this thread, but NCFOM follows the novel, I'm assuming.
Let me nominate Peter Jackson's King Kong. The movie that wouldn't end....
Man Push Cart is the most depressing movie I've ever seen. The ending is pretty frustrating but realistic. There are a lot of immigrants who come to America who were big shots in their country of origin and come here ending up doing remedial work.
This film is a metaphor for all those people. It's also an allegory of the fallen artist.
"Man Push Cart" was a wonderful little film. The director's latest "Chop Shop" is
another little gem from another immigrant sector of NYC. For those who enjoyed
MPC, CS is recommended highly.
On the subject of "pseudo docs." another one that blew me away was
"Day Night Day Night" also taking place in NYC about a suicide bomber.
Starts off slow, but last half will surely grab you.
This sounds interesting. Have you seen House of Sand and Fog. It's also a story of an immigrant reduced to a lesser job and trying to save face in the US.
Although I totally have a HUGE freeking issue with the tortured animal part of this movie.........
The ending of this movie totally sucked beyond suckiness.
You think this crazy jerk is going to get whats finally coming to him.........and the way its all set up, you think he's going to get turned into "shredded wheat", but the cop just shoots him.
The ending to Unfaithful with Diane Lane and Richard Gere frustrated the hell out of me. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Did he turn himself in? Or didn't he? Otherwise I love that movie.
The only things I hated about the ending of 'There Will Be Blood' were that they lived and that it didn't end two hours sooner. People knock Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulin, Titanic and Brokeback Mountain, yet loved that stupid movie along with Lord of the Rings and the ultimate crapfest Fight Club. What is this world coming to? (meant to be a kind jab with a grin)
