A Netflix Community

Since joining Netflix, renting TV shows has become one of my favorite things to watch. How great is it to watch entire seasons of LOST, Prison Break, The Closer, 24, Friday Night Lights, etc. with no commercial interruption and not having to wait a week to see what happens? Not to mention that I have become a huge fan of shows I'd never heard of or considered watching in the past. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with TV show rentals. I am also curious as to what your favorite shows are to watch.

I usually end up borrowing TV season DVDs from friends, but I've watched the following on DVD or Netflix's Watch Instantly:

* First Season of Lost, which got me caught up and then watched the rest on TV
* First Season of Prison Break - rest on TV
* First two seasons of Battlestar Galactica (second using Netflix)
* Firefly
* First three seasons of The Office (American version) on Watch Instantly
* First series of The Office (English version) on Watch Instantly
* Fawlty Towers on Watch Instantly
* Currently watching the first season of Heroes on DVD
* I've watched a few episodes of Hitchcock Presents on Watch Instantly so far.

I've enjoyed every single one of these and I'm happy that I got to see them eventually.

Up next is season three of Battlestar Galactica. I'd also like to watch Deadwood sometime and I'm interested in Upstairs, Downstairs. I also might start in on 24 sometime, but I've already heard a lot of spoilers so it doesn't interest me as much as I'd like.

I recommend Big Love season 1 and 2. It's different from anything you've seen on TV before. This is a drama (lots of laughs too) about a polygamous family living in Utah. A man and his 3 wives are trying to fit into normal life and not be outed as polygamous which is against the law and against LDS church. Someone on this forum said this show was really good so I looked it up. It actually didn't sound like something I'd like but Harry Dean Stanton is in it playing the Profit on the polygamous compound this family left. I'm a big fan of his so watched it and got hooked. I think the writing is clever, the characters are unique, and the actors do a great job. The "feel" is similar to The Riches which I really liked but heard it's been canceled. I've also heard Big Love will be back for Season 3 but now that I like it I'm sure it'll be gone soon.
