7 Days chronicles the adventures of Frank Parker, a "chrononaut" assigned to the U.S. government's "Operation Back Step." The operation revolves around the Sphere, created by Dr.'s Mentnor, Vukavitch, and Ballard from alien technology salvaged from Roswell. The alien power source allows a jump of only seven days, so when a crisis occurs the government assigns NSA agent Frank Parker to jump back in time up to 7 days to prevent it, creating a new timeline where only Frank remembers the old one. Frank is uniquely qualified for the job - he has a high tolerance for pain (required during piloting), a photographic memory, and has had some psychiatric problems that give him a very...flexible mindset when dealing with altered timelines. Assisting him on his missions are project head Bradley Talmadge, head of security Nathan Ramsey, and military advisor and back-up chrononaut Craig Donovan. In the third season Ballard retires and his replacement "Hooter" Owsley takes his place as scientific expert and recurring guest star.

Premise

Using parts salvaged from a crashed UFO vessel at Roswell, scientists Dr. Olga Vukavitch and Dr. Isaac Mentnor in cooperation with the US government National Security Agency have created a time machine in a project known as Backstep. The machine, known as the Backstep sphere, is able to send a person back in time but due to the limitations of the alien power source, it can only go back seven days.

U.S. Navy Lieutenant Francis "Frank" Bartholomew Parker works with Project Backstep's scientists as their guinea pig. He is sent back in time to complete assigned missions creating a new timeline only he remembers. His photographic memory, high pain tolerance, and former psychiatric problems make him ideal for the task. He is assisted on his missions by Bradley Talmadge, the project leader, and Nathan Ramsey, the head of security.

More:
Seven Days (October 7, 1998 – May 29, 2001) was a time travel series created by Christopher Crowe and Zachary Crowe and produced by UPN. The series ended after three seasons, in part due to conflicts between lead actors Jonathon LaPaglia and Justina Vail. The series filmed in California for its first season and in Vancouver for the remaining two seasons.
