A Netflix review of mine was blatantly plagiarized. It even appears directly below my own. Given the site's occasional hiccups, I first gave the benefit of the doubt that it was doubled on the page due to a back-end glitch. Then I noticed the user copied my review word-for-word except the last sentence -- they apparently did not understand my grammar and attempted to correct it.
Based on the user's profile and ratings, they seem to like pop mainstream movies (Spice World, The Swan Princess). My review is for Black Night, an extremely avant garde and difficult to follow film. It doesn't seem like something they would want to watch or be associated with, so why did they steal my review?
Could plagiarism of user reviews turn into a growing problem?

Read back a few pages in this thread. You'll see that this particular reviewer not only plagiarizes from imdb.com but has persistently circumvented Nflx's attempts to curb their activities. Some of us here just want to be sure Nflx is made aware that illegal copies are being posted as reviews.
Yup, keep up the good work Ed8r! I think it's awful that he's taking reviews from imdb. Those people aren't aware of it and that's a shame and whoever is doing this should be stopped from this behavior.

Last night this members reviews "went on vaction again" but true to some plagiarizer code he/she lives by a new one posted today. A bit ironic that he/she copied a review that is questioning the originality of the movie.

It's utterly amazing. Then he doesn't even have the sense to correct the language and grammar, he's choosing a review that isn't properly written in the first place! What a maroon! (that's that Bugs Bunny word)
