Again today I got Part 2 of a 2 part series but I haven't received Part 1. That means I can't return this disc until I get Part 1and watch it and then watch Part 2. So I have nothing to watch tonight even though I'm on the 5 disk plan. And next week I'll have a gap because I'll be behind in returning disks. Great. I'm thinking about returning to the 3 disk plan where at least there was a reason for having nothing to watch on a Friday night.

I would call customer service, they can probably have sent you 1 today so that your weren't inconvenienced. Also if I had this problem repeatedly, personally, I probably spread my series discs out. I couldn't imagine how aggravated I would be if this happened to me on a regular basis. I haven't *knock on wood* had it happen at all. I fully agree if you aren't happy though show it to them in their pocket book that is how companies listen.

Bernardo Bertolucci made an experimental movie called Partner. This movie had a free form structure that deviated from the typical cause and effect narrative that is found in conventionally structured plots. Netflix's "error" is actually geodea's opportunity to experiment in the manner of the great artist. I suggest you watch the DVD using the random chapter function on your player. Return the DVD after you have watched it out of order and then watch Disc 1 in the typically linear fashion.

What you will have accomplished is the subversion of the series' creators original intentions through your refusal to conform to their fascist presupposition of your 'natural' viewing pattern. Why do this? The answer is simple, yet complex at the same time: By frustrating the linear viewing pattern of the original artist, new meanings and connotations will emerge in a completely novel format that neither the artist nor you would have expected. You will have, in other words, creating a wholly original cognitive experience. You will have thwarted the original implied relationship with the artist who created the series (i.e. you as the consumer, they as the manufacturer) , and will have now become the creator. A strike against the system that oppresses us.

All thanks to Netflix's "error".

Unfortunately Bertolucci did not create Touching Evil, Series 3. I must remind you that the Conformist, Bertolucci's masterpiece, used flashbacks that were firmly anchored in place-memories. Even he knew that randomness rarely produces anything near carefully planned cinema.
