I can play a movie on my laptop while using my alltel phone as a modem. And I can use my desktop hooked to directway through a router to watch movies But when I use my laptop wirelessly using the same router and directway I get the error 1229. I have the same security settings for the laptop and the desktop. Does anyone have any ideas

Search the manufacturer's Web site for the error number or call them. Does wireless work for you otherwise? It might be that the switch to enable it hasn't been turned on yet. There's usually an indicator light to show on/off and a switch on the side or bottom. (This got me the first time and I generally know what I'm doing. They just didn't say in any procedures "There's a switch" nor was it labeled, I had to stumble on the tiny bit that mentioned its existence.)

Sounds like a firewall on the wireless router, though it's puzzling that you don't have the same problem connecting with a wire to the same router. Might want to contact NF support for the ports you'd need to unblock.
