Whether it was the film itself or the experience around it....
Let us know what made you go "wow!" for the first time and really wonder what this movie thing was all about, besides entertainment.....

Mine was:
I always went to movies w/ my father as a child. I never remember being asked what I wanted to see, but we rarely saw children's movies.
One day he took me to see a movie I hadn't heard of: The Right Stuff
From the graphic depictions of testing to each carefully crafted character - I was hooked.
This was something different.
I fell in love with the maverick in Yeager (Sam Shephard), the golden boy pressure of Glenn (Ed Harris); and the neglected Grissom (Fred Ward).
And it had an intermission! (This is when movies still did & you could smoke in a movie theater)
I came out of that theatre full of wonder and still weeping over the loss of the men in the fire featured only as a mere mention at the end.
This was no "Apple Dumpling Gang"

When I lived in England every ticket you bought at the cinema after 3pm was an assigned seat, and you had to choose from this screen at the counter where you bought your ticket. point being: we were always ushered to our seats

I remember ushers with little flashlights escorting us to our seats.
When in CZ we saw the Big Lebowski in Ostrava CZ in an old theater converted to a dollar movie theater. We sat in velvet burgundy armchairs. FYI the Czecks totally got the humor of that movie even when subtitled.

Dracula... 1931. I've love vampire movies and horror ever since.

I was just a kid, but 'Stand By Me' sticks out in my memory.

I would say that Star Wars and Jaws had the biggest long lasting impact on me as a kid.

For me it was Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope. It opened the doors of math and science for me and, subsequently, led me to explore many different subjects relating to aviation and the various NASA and pre-NASA projects.

math? science? NASA? geez! all I got was an unhealthy obsession with SciFi costumes and props.

when I first saw Angel Heart, with Mickey Rourke, I walked out of that theatre not really knowing who I was anymore, or who I thought I was, or who anyone was. To this day that movie still haunts me. Also the first Die Hard Movie. I loved it so much I went back twice to see it again.

did you know they tried to keep it quiet that bruce willis was the star of that show. they made a trailer that kind of "hid" him. they were afraid people wouldn't come see the movie if they knew he was starring in the movie. it just kind of blew up and became a big hit. how cool is that? =)
