"Movies You'll Love" Feature on netflix.com not working, just signed up...

Hi all,
Just signed up and was looking forward to stocking up my queue. The MOVIES YOU'LL LOVE feature on the web site will NOT work for some reason. I'm on a MACBOOK with Leopard, browser is latest Mozilla FireFox. Anyone else having this or similar problems? Anyone know how I can fix it?

Permalink Reply by The Professor on May 15, 2008 at 10:36pm: I'm not 100% sure what you mean, but if you are new to netflix the feature may not work until you go through and rate a bunch of movies you've seen, essentially giving their computers some data about your preferences to work with.; ▶ Reply to This

I'll go through 2 pages full of movies and rate a bunch, then it will do the whole "15 seconds until the movies you'll love" presentation about how I'm supposed to rate movies and what the red and gold stars mean, then it will say "and now..." and then nothing happens. Maybe it's a flash problem? Although I'm almost positive my flash player

Permalink Reply by Aces (CHawk) on May 15, 2008 at 10:50pm: Until it's fixed you can find movies you might like in lists members have made. Search for one of your favorite movies then look down on the left side of the page and find this section:
Featured in the following Top 10 lists:

Below that will be lists members have made that your movie is in. So you can find movies similar. Also you can go to the Friends and Community section and begin finding people who have similar movie taste. Add them to you Faves and you can look at their favorite movies and their lists.

Permalink Reply by Adrian on May 16, 2008 at 1:28am: I'm sorry to hear you are having issues, you should call the customer support number, and they will walk you through it so they can figure out whether its a configuration problem or whatever, and report back to Engineering if its a bug that needs fixing.

Also you can skip this new users sequence, and just rate genres and movies that you have seen before as you go along.
