I enjoyed Route 66. My older sisters were ga-ga for George Maharis, but I liked the concept of bumming across America in a 'vette, taking odd jobs along the way for gas money. First appearing in 1960, it symbolically bridged the gap between On The Road and The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test.

taking odd jobs along the way for gas money.

At thirty-one cents per gallon, btw. One quarter, one nickel, one penny.

My favourite movie was "The Secret of Nimh." It's still one of my all time favourites. Cheers!

I was such a TV-addled kid of the 50s, but I was never into watching old shows on TV. This thread set me to thinkin', and now Rawhide and Gunsmoke are ridin' the high country of my queue

Gunsmoke is one I am currently getting as well.

Gosh Kristyn, I've never heard of any of the ones you've listed- shows you how much of a difference a decade can make?

Haha. Yeah, I was born in '90 and grew up watching these. I wish they would come back, but none such luck.

But, I must say, I also grew up watching a bunch of older movies/shows. My mom wanted us to be familiar with classics. We watched I Love Lucy, The Brady Bunch, Three's Company (probably my all time fave as a kid) and movies like Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Wizard of Oz.
