Hmm haven't seen the grindhouse release yet, haven't actually watched the VHS copy in years.

But time permitting and if the old VCR cooperates with my HDTV I might give them a comparison for shits and giggles!

Shock value can blend well in insulting footage... but I don't mind the mundane either. Campiness is a whole other story. The more absurd, the more I enjoy it typically. Yeah, Gummo was really thought-provoking. My personal favorite is actually Todd Solondz's 'works of art' (Happiness or Welcome to the Dollhouse).
