- My favorite types of movies are Sci-fi fantasy and action adventure. I also follow a lot of superhero movies and animated series. I like a good action flik as long as it has a good plot to it. I'm not much of a fan of horror films, although I do enjoy a good supernatural thriller. Probably my least favorite type of film are the romantic comedy's. I usually avoid those unless I know it has some hot male nudity. (Yes, I'm gay)

I just created a thread for us at the Sci-Fi Forum so we have more room to discuss. I will reply to you over there :)
I was thinking the heading could read "The Sci-Fi Portal" or something like that and then it would include an active list of icon-links to the other sci-fi groups here (Like your Star Trek group).
I don't want to list the icons BEFORE the discussion forum because it would be too distracting.
Ideally, I'd like to insert them into the RSS feed section, above the comment wall. If that fails, I suppose that it could go on the comment wall, but I think that they would get overlooked there -plus the comment wall is not set up to be edit-friendly.
The other option is that I have created another network on Ning called "DorkyCool" (hence the little badge/logo 'Dorky is the New Cool').
I have not developed it into anything yet, but it could serve as a link that would take uses to "The Sci-Fi Portal'. All of us group creaters/ administraters could organize our groups there.
I tried fooling around with this idea a little bit, but my Ning badge link takes the user to the 'members' page instead of the 'main' page. This would be too confusing for the user to navigate from there to the list of groups and I don't know how to correct this so that it could go there directly.
In fact, I can't seem to figure out much about setting up site :{
I really wish Ning itself was more condusive to organization.

One thing I thought would be a good idea is to create a 'sci-fi portal' that would have icon links to the other sci-fi groups on this site. I'm not really sure how to do that but I think Spiderpig knows a thing or 2 about computers...
I thought our taste in movies would be more compatible, action sci-fi etc but nflix says other wise. Hum... oh... well... feel free to kick me to the curb ; )

Im gay too, but i never could understand all this "acting" stuff. If its not too personal, can I ask......
Why cant you be yourself? Why do you have to "act" like anything?
To me, I think thats one of the biggest problems with gays in this country...all trying to "act" like something or somebody, instead of themselves. (not pointing fingers mind you, just commenting on the whole thing)
People ask me when I knew I was gay or what kind of gay I am. I just tell them "Im me, I was born me, I will always be me, I have never pretended to be anything else but me...and if you dont like me....well, theres the door".
So, comments like you made, I just always have to ask.
I supposed thats a reason I like cats so much....always gotta know whats going on.
